The texture of the trunk is interesting.
The roughness and separation of the trunk and the scar below the split caught my eye.
The diameter of the trunk compared to the length and the light on the fern's canopy piqued my interest.
One foggy morning, looking south from Mount Wooroolin in Kingaroy across the Stuart River valley towards the Tarong Power Station.
Peanuts are the go in the Kingaroy area.
Some sort of gantry at the dam that provides potable water to the surrounding Moreton Bay Region.
The catchment of the dam is much of the south east section of the D'Aguilar Range. Starting in October through to mid March 2011 and intensely for a few days in Jan 2011 the area sustained 1 in 200 year and 1 in 500 year rain events.
During a 12 hour period in mid Jan the area was reported to have received 300mm of rain per hour.
We were at Murrumba Downs in Jan 2011 when the dam had to release water into the Pine River system which led to major flooding in the area.

Afternoon sun. Special place. I took three photos from this same area. First time I've ever done that.
