Lake Eucumbene is part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. The Buckendera Holiday Park was brilliant as a base to explore the Snowies... We spent two weeks over Christmas/New Year in the 160 acre park.

At that time the water was cold. Freezing is an apt description.

Christmas Eve was cold and wet with squally showers. Christmas Day was cool and windy. Then it warmed up during the day with cool nights. Beautiful sleeping weather.

Mt Tennent, ACT

Named after a bushranger who camped on its slopes, Mt Tennent is named Tharwa by first nation people.

Cotter River, ACT

The Cotter River Campground is a great place to set up base for a couple of weeks while exploring the ACT and surrounding areas. Good facilities and well patronised.
