Mount Warning, NSW

An area of widely contrasting landscapes. I stayed at the Mount Warning Bed and Breakfast and at the Tyalgum Hotel. Highly recommend both.

First nation, geologically and historically significant site.

I really enjoyed the motorbike riding in the area including getting there from the Queensland side through Numinbah Valley.

Clear Island Waters, Gold Coast, Qld

I was lucky enough to be in the right place with an awesome friend.

Border Ranges, Tyalgum, NSW

Beautiful, lush, verdant and rugged country. The border runs on top of the range in the distance and Queensland is just on the other side of the clouds.

Roads with plenty of bends to get the juices flowing on the bike. Not the smoothest roads, and sometimes not the widest in the universe but, I had truckloads of fun on them.

I recommend the hospitality at the Tyalgum Pub.

Numinbah Valley, Qld

Numinbah Valley from the southern end looking north. Headwaters of Nerang River is at the foot of the range.

Awesome bike ride. There are lots of sweet spots in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Skennars Head, NSW

To my left is the Iron Peg. Rock fishermen tie themselves to it for safety... I hear the fish are big.

There's an awesome Big 4 Caravan Park a kilometre or so inland.

Ballina being 10km south was handy for supplies.

The NSW coast in general is something special.
